Image of Explore historic Kanda and bustling Akihabara for specialty shopping, ending with delicious pudding under the railway.

This time, it is a walk along the railway line from Kanda to Okachimachi.

The start is in Kanda.

However, JR Kanda station is a little far away, so we recommend you to start from Awaji-cho (M19), Ogawamachi (S07), or JR Ochanomizu station. You can also go from Akihabara Station, but avoid it if possible, as it is a walk in that direction.

In this part of Kanda, there are many old buildings that escaped the war. This time, let’s go to Takemura, a famous sweet shop in the area.

Since meals are not included in this route, depending on the time of day, please consider soba noodle restaurants and anko-nabe restaurants in the surrounding area as candidates.

It is a three-minute walk to the next spot. Since we are here, let’s go around and take a tour of old buildings.
From here, cross the bridge and you will be in Akihabara. The next spot is about 5 minutes away, but before that, explore Akihabara.
Once you are done shopping in Japan, walk along the railroad tracks for about 5 minutes. There are some interesting stores along the way, so take a peek.

This nice cafe is our goal this time. JR Okachimachi station and Naka-Okachimachi station (H17) are the nearest stations here.

This route is close in distance, so you can make many stops in Kanda and Akihabara.

If you still have time, continue along the railroad line to Ameyoko (Ameya Yokocho). Enjoy the market atmosphere and go home. Beyond that you will find JR Ueno Station.
