Enjoy Kinshicho’s local eats, stroll through Kameido Tenjin and stylish cafes, and head to Tokyo Skytree.

This journey starts in Kinshicho (JR / Hanzomon Line Z13). Wander your way toward Tokyo Skytree.

The first stop is a local Chinese restaurant, so come with an appetite. Since it’s a popular spot, visiting a bit after lunch hours is recommended.

Exit Kinshicho Station and walk through Kinshi Park for about 5 minutes.

KEIRIN

This restaurant is well-known in Kinshicho for its Chinese cuisine. The most popular dish is the shrimp fried rice, which looks delicious. The dishes are not too large in quantity, so you may order more than one dish. Recommended for strolling around. There can be a line at lunchtime, so try to shift the time or wander around the area and aim for an empty time.

KAMEIDOTENJIN

Tenjin-sama is famous for its wisteria trellises. If you want to see wisteria, aim for around April. The wisteria trellises can be viewed from above at the Taiko-bashi bridge on the approach to the shrine, and the Sky Tree can be seen in large scale beyond the wisteria trellises.

FUNABASHIYA KAMEIDOTENJINMAE HONTEN

Funabashiya, known for its kuzumochi, now has locations everywhere, but its main store is located here near Kameido Tenjin. It’s crowded, especially on holidays, but the traditional interior is highly recommended.

TOWER VIEW DORI ST

As the name suggests, this is a street where you can stroll while enjoying views of the Sky Tree. It offers a calm atmosphere for a relaxing walk.

BERTH COFFEE ROASTERY HARU

It’s a small shop, but they serve delicious coffee and do their own roasting. On non-holidays, you can enjoy a leisurely visit. If it’s crowded, I recommend getting coffee to go and enjoying it on a walk.

OYOKOGAWA WATER PARK

This long, narrow park connects Kinshicho Station to Tokyo Sky Tree. Walking along the river provides beautiful scenery. Depending on the season, it’s a good idea to bring insect repellent.

OKOPPE MILK STAND SORAMACHI

A shop offering really delicious soft serve ice cream and crepes, located in the Sky Tree Solamachi food court. Personally, I recommend the simplest option: the “Okoppe Fermented Butter and Maple Sugar Crepe.”

• EAT

The goal is the Skytree, located beyond the park. We recommend the delicious crepes available at the Skytree’s food court. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll around Solamachi before heading home. The nearest stations are Oshiage Station and Tokyo Skytree Station (TS02).

While many might head to Kameido Tenjin from Kameido Station, the distance from Kinshicho Station is about the same. This route, which passes through parks and crosses the river, offers a more pleasant journey.
