Image of Healthy brown rice lunch in Kuramae, a manufacturing town. From there, a walk to a nostalgic shopping street, visiting nice stores.

This time from Kuramae.

Located along the Sumida River, Kuramae is also known as Japan’s Brooklyn because of its thriving manufacturing industry. However, it can be a very boring place if you go the wrong way, so follow the spots introduced here to have a good stroll.

The nearest station is Kuramae Station (A17) (E11) on the Asakusa and Oedo Lines.

First, let’s have lunch. Let’s have a healthy brown rice set meal at Yuiwaeru.

After you finish your meal, you can enjoy shopping in the store. From there, it is a slow 5-minute walk. Just stop by the cafe later so you can take a quick peek at Dandelion Chocolates this time or just buy some souvenirs.
Walk down the same narrow street for 3 minutes.
It takes about 5 minutes through the residential area of the boardwalk. Take a rest here.
After leaving the store, walk for about 5 minutes. Next, it may be hard to find the store because it doesn’t look like a store.
Behind the store is a shopping street.
After passing through the straight shopping street, walk down the wide street for about 3 minutes.

The Satake shopping district is the goal.

Shin-Okachimachi Station (E10) on the Oedo Line is located at the end of the shopping street. If you have enough energy, you can continue on to Okachimachi and Ueno.

In the Kuramae neighborhood this time around, you will find interesting stores such as manufacturers of bags and stationery, wholesalers of traditional toys, and fireworks. Be sure to take a good stroll around the spots when you take the route above.
