A stroll from the old Shiba Rikyu, where you can feel the sea, to Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Tower.
This time, our walk will follow a nearly straight path. Let’s start by heading towards the old Shiba Rikyu Garden.
The nearest station is JR Hamamatsucho Station, which serves as the gateway to Haneda Airport.
The great thing about this route is that you can always see our final destination, the Tokyo Tower, so you just need to head towards it. Feel free to make detours along the way. This area is abundant with eateries, so depending on your mood at the moment, enjoy a meal or a break.
Tokyo Tower is our goal for this walk.
Even if you don’t climb to the top of Tokyo Tower, you can still enjoy it. However, if it’s your first time, you should definitely go up. While it has been renovated, the building itself hasn’t changed, so you can still enjoy the Showa era atmosphere in places. Surrounding it are tall buildings, and you’ll understand why the Sky Tree became necessary as a broadcasting tower. Apparently, it still serves as a backup even now.
The nearest stations are Kamiyacho (H05) and Akabanebashi (E21).
If you still have the energy to walk, Azabu Juban and Roppongi are also within walking distance.
